Frequently asked questions

Am I eligible for free mental health support through DVA?

Yes. If you have a DVA White or Gold Card, you are eligible for telehealth as an approved therapy method with no out-of-pocket costs. 

Do I need a referral from my GP? 

No referral is required for DVA Gold Card holders. If you have a DVA White card, your eligibility will depend on whether your mental health condition is service related, and you may need a GP referral. We can guide you on how to get the right documentation.  

How do online psychology sessions work?

Sessions are conducted via secure video calls, allowing you to speak with a psychologist from home or anywhere you feel comfortable. All you need is a stable internet connect and a private space.
