Sandra is a registered psychologist who has worked in private practice for over 30 years, with experience in providing therapy and training to individuals, groups, and consulting to organisations.  

​

Sandra commenced her career working with people suffering chronic pain, disability, and work-related stress before establishing a thriving psychology practice providing counselling, employee assistance programmes, critical incident response and organisational psychology and occupational health services. 

​

She has worked as a counsellor, supervisor, and mental health consultant providing services to a range of state and Commonwealth government departments, ADF, and the corporate sector.

​

Throughout her three decades of practice, Sandra has worked across the lifespan, providing therapy to young children as well as mature adults. She has also worked extensively with clients from regional and remote areas including FIFO and rural workers.

​

Sandra works from an integrative approach with the focus on building on a client’s strengths to achieve positive emotional outcomes.  She believes that we all have the capacity to achieve our life goals, but sometimes we need a guiding hand and supportive environment to help along the way.  

​

Sandra's areas of expertise include relationship and family matters, depression, anxiety and panic, loneliness, workplace issues, chronic pain and illness, and trauma-related conditions. She has also worked with people with sexual and identity issues, eating disorders, and provided support to the loved ones of people struggling with their own mental health and emotions, including family members with personality disorders.

Sandra uses a primarily a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, but also draws from a variety of other therapeutic modalities and techniques, including interpersonal psychotherapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, and positive psychology. She has also been trained in Clinical Hypnosis and EMDR and is happy to use these techniques for appropriate clients.

Sandra’s naturally gentle approach ensures that her clients are afforded a calm and safe therapeutic space where issues can be explored without fear of judgement.
